March Naturebox Review + Coupon Code

IMG_0245Naturebox is a monthly subscription box which sends you 5 3-5oz bags of snacks every month. You can choose which snacks you want as well as some backups in case the ones you want aren’t available. The cost is $19.99 a month. This month I received a bonus snack for a total of six. Here is what was in the box.

Pistachio Power Clusters – These are my absolute favorite and pretty much the whole reason I subscribe. There aren’t a whole lot in the bag so I usually go through them in one or two days.

Chocolate Quinoa Granola – This was fairly good. My toddler and I both enjoyed eating it.They sent an extra bag as a bonus so I actually have two of this snack.

Coconut Date Energy Bites – These were too sweet for me and my toddler didn’t like them either.

Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix – This was ok. Unfortunately my toddler managed to dump most of the bag out all over the floor so that was the end of that.

Golden Apple Tea Biscuits – This is the only snack I haven’t tried yet. I’ve been planning to have them with tea but I haven’t made any tea recently.

Verdict – I like the idea behind NatureBox and the snacks are generally good. But it seems like the bags have gotten smaller and there isn’t as much in them. Also a lot of their selections are granola. I might keep this for one more month and try some other flavors. What do you think of Nature Box? March Artistry Gifts Review

IMG_0246Artistry Gifts is a new lifestyle box that was started by the company Artistry Gift Wrap. The cost is $49.99 a month and promises to contain giftable items centered around a monthly theme. The theme this month was ‘Staying In.’ The box included five items.

Flavour It Glass Water Bottle – I saw the spoilers for this and it is the main reason I signed up. Everyone has been talking about fruit infused water lately so I wanted to try it. The bottle is very nice and I like that it’s glass. It was a little difficult getting the fruit into the infuser because the infuser doesn’t stand up on it’s own. For my first fruit-infused water I tried lime and frozen strawberries. After leaving it in the fridge for a few hours I thought it imparted a really nice flavor to the water. The bottle was a little tricky to drink from but it was ok once I got the hang of it. Overall I like having extra flavors in my water. I may not be able to go back to regular water now.

Forty Below Card Game – I played this with my in-laws who had already played it before. It took me a few hands to understand strategy but now I really like it.

Pure Vanilla Milkbottle Candle – I love the smell of vanilla and this is a nice candle. Plus I’ve heard that once the candle is finished you can re-use the bottle as a vase. Cool!

Inis Energy of the Sea Bath Gel – I’m not sure what to think of this. The scent seems somewhat masculine to me but I still like it. And it’s cool it’s from Ireland and it’s a brand I’ve never tried before.

Blarney Stone Chocolate Marshmallow – This was really tasty. I liked this a lot.

Inis of the Sea Lotion Sample – This lotion seems really strongly scented. Not sure I would want to wear this very often.

Patrick Cologne Sample – This cologne seemed WAY strong to me. I will not be purchasing any for my husband.

I really liked this box. It was an interesting variety of items. What did you think of your Artistry Gifts box this month?

February Awesome Pack Review

IMG_0223Awesome Pack is a new subscription box that sends you games every month based on your preferences. My preferences are set to include my college age step-son as well as my three year old and even my dog. This was my first month subscribing and I am really impressed. They send a bunch of items and really included everyone in the family.

IMG_0224Ruckus – This is a family card game for ages 8+. This looks like fun and I can’t wait to try this.

IMG_0225I Can Do That Card Game – This is listed for ages 3+. This seems like a great game and I think my daughter will really like playing this.

IMG_0228Mammut – I had never heard if this game before but it sounds really interesting and I think that it will be a good one to play with my step-son next weekend when he visits.

IMG_0227Frozen Sticker Book – This will be absolutely PERFECT for keeping my toddler busy while the adults play games. Love it!

IMG_0226Design Your Own T-Shirt Transfer – This is another great keep busy activity!

IMG_0229Gnawsome Faces Dog Squeaker Toy – This looks a little weird but the dog seems to enjoy it and he needed a new toy. How great is it that they even include a way to keep the dog busy!

IMG_0230They also included stickers, a magnet and an activity book. I am just blown away by this box. They are right, it is awesome! I had originally only planned to do one month but now I am think I will stay subscribed and see what they send next month. What do you think of Awesome Pack?

PopSugar MustHave February Box Review

IMG_0214Pop Sugar Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box geared towards women and showcasing all the latest “must haves.” February’s box had the following six items:

IMG_0222U.S. Apothecary Rose Water Bubble Bath – I was very happy to see this item. I love bubble bath and this one seems extra luxurious. It has a nice delicate rose scent and is not overpowering in the slightest. My bottle had leaked a bit in shipping but thankfully it was well encased in a plastic bag and did not effect the other items.

IMG_0220Heart shaped cheese serving tray w/ knife – This item is just ok for me. I don’t have a cheese board so I guess this will get some use but I already had the same knife and so I can tell you it’s not actually all that great for cutting cheese. At least not in my experience. We have a wire cheese cutter which works much better.

IMG_0217Chuao Rocky Road Chocolate Bar – This chocolate bar is absolutely delicious and possibly one of the best chocolate bars out there.

BaubleBar Arrow Necklace – This seems like a lovely delicate necklace but it’s not my style so it will be a gift.

IMG_0219Tarte 12 hour blush – I have not tried this brand before but 12 hour blush seems like a good idea.

Figs & Rouge Pomegranate Lip Balm – I haven’t tried this yet but it looks very fancy. Due to subscription boxes I pretty much have lip balm coming out my ears so I will most likely gift this.

Fingerpaints Nail Polish – I haven’t tried this either but since pink really isn’t my shade so this will be a gift.

The bubble bath and the chocolate bar were my favorite items. I think value wise this box definitely delivers and the contents certainly fit well with a February theme. As always I look forward to seeing what they do next month. What do you think of PopSugarMustHave?

February Little Lace Box Review

IMG_0236Little Lace Box is a monthly subscription lifestyle box. They are currently not accepting new subscribers. According to their leaflet this was not the original box they had planned. But, due to various manufacturing issues they were not able to put out their original vision. This box had five items.

IMG_0237Beekman 1802 Original Fudge Sauce – I heated this up in the microwave and poured it over vanilla ice cream. It is a very nice thick sauce with a good flavor. And what I like most about it is that it tastes real and doesn’t have that artificial taste. There were some variations in the boxes and some people got an orange chocolate fudge sauce. I would’ve been interested to try that since I love orange and chocolate together.

IMG_0238Beekman 1802 Bling Bath Salts – The scent of this is not my favorite. It is sort of a mint lemon soapy type smell. I didn’t really notice a lot of sparkle or glitter while I was in the bath but I do have somewhat glittery skin now that I am out. Also it did make the water really soft. There was a variation in the boxes where some people got bath truffles. I think I might’ve liked those more.

Dancing Goat Hula Bliss Lotion – I put a little of this on my hands and I thought the smell was awful. It reminded me a bit of Vick’s Vapor Rub. But, the strong smell does wear off after a bit and it did make my skin a little softer.

IMG_0239Whitley Designs Triangle Earrings – These are handmade and generally I like small earrings but these feel unfinished to me like the triangles should be filled in in some way. They need some sparkle or some color. They just feel too plain to me.

P. Press Papers Pink Arrow Stationary – This is a set of 8 flat notecards with a pink arrow at the top. These are just ok for me. I haven’t decided yet if I will keep them or gift them.

Verdict – I am underwhelmed by this box. I had really high expectations and so these items fell a bit short for me. I think for $40 the value is there but, I’m just not wowed. I am on the fence about canceling this subscription or giving them another month. What do you think about the Little Lace Box?

February Pijon Box Review

IMG_0206Pijon box is a subscription box designed for college students. My stepson is in college and so I wanted to try it out to see what I thought of it before I sent him one. There is an option to choose male or female and for this one since it was for me I chose female.

IMG_0207Oat Works Pomegranate Blueberry – This was a very tasty juice with the added benefit of a little extra fiber. You couldn’t tell that there was any fiber in there and my toddler and I drank this happily.

IMG_0208Not Your Mother’s Thickening Hair Lifter – I haven’t tried this yet but I think it would be a useful item for a college aged girl.

Bamboo Toothbrush – This is not an exciting item but certainly a useful one.

IMG_0210Jimmy Bar Clean Snack Bar – I like the idea behind these bars but the taste is straight up awful. I didn’t like them one bit.

Revolution Tea Sampler – This is a sampler pack of three different types of tea. I haven’t tried them yet but how can you go wrong with tea.

IMG_0211Game Day Chapstick for men – I was surprised to see an item for men in my women’s box but I think chapstick in this cold climate is very useful. I gave it to my husband but I’m not sure he’s tried it yet.

Go Towel Pack of 3 – This is another great item that fits easily in your pocket that you can use on the go.

These items aren’t particularly high in value or super exciting but I loved receiving mail when I lived in the dorm and these are all useful items that a college student could use. What do you think of Pijon Box?

January Koala Crate Review

IMG_0128

Koala Crate is a subscription box for kids ages 2-4. The cost is $19.99/month. Each month has a theme and this month the theme was music. There were three activities as well as an activity book.

IMG_0132

The first activity we did was decorate a tube and then put tissue paper on the ends so that when you blow through it it would sound sort if like a horn. This activity was easy and my three year old liked it. She likes stickers and she likes musical things. But she didn’t really understand the crepe paper aspect and so it didn’t stay on the tube long. Luckily several pieces were included.

IMG_0134

The next activity was a rhythm game using this:

The last activity was a music activity which involved dying a scarf with cool aid and then swaying the scarf to the music.

IMG_0139

My daughter loved all of these activities and I thought this was a great box. I can’t wait to see what they do next month. If you’d like to subscribe to Koala Crate use this link to get $10 off your first box. Subscribe
