March Naturebox Review + Coupon Code

IMG_0245Naturebox is a monthly subscription box which sends you 5 3-5oz bags of snacks every month. You can choose which snacks you want as well as some backups in case the ones you want aren’t available. The cost is $19.99 a month. This month I received a bonus snack for a total of six. Here is what was in the box.

Pistachio Power Clusters – These are my absolute favorite and pretty much the whole reason I subscribe. There aren’t a whole lot in the bag so I usually go through them in one or two days.

Chocolate Quinoa Granola – This was fairly good. My toddler and I both enjoyed eating it.They sent an extra bag as a bonus so I actually have two of this snack.

Coconut Date Energy Bites – These were too sweet for me and my toddler didn’t like them either.

Dark Chocolate Berry Trail Mix – This was ok. Unfortunately my toddler managed to dump most of the bag out all over the floor so that was the end of that.

Golden Apple Tea Biscuits – This is the only snack I haven’t tried yet. I’ve been planning to have them with tea but I haven’t made any tea recently.

Verdict – I like the idea behind NatureBox and the snacks are generally good. But it seems like the bags have gotten smaller and there isn’t as much in them. Also a lot of their selections are granola. I might keep this for one more month and try some other flavors. What do you think of Nature Box? February Pijon Box Review

IMG_0206Pijon box is a subscription box designed for college students. My stepson is in college and so I wanted to try it out to see what I thought of it before I sent him one. There is an option to choose male or female and for this one since it was for me I chose female.

IMG_0207Oat Works Pomegranate Blueberry – This was a very tasty juice with the added benefit of a little extra fiber. You couldn’t tell that there was any fiber in there and my toddler and I drank this happily.

IMG_0208Not Your Mother’s Thickening Hair Lifter – I haven’t tried this yet but I think it would be a useful item for a college aged girl.

Bamboo Toothbrush – This is not an exciting item but certainly a useful one.

IMG_0210Jimmy Bar Clean Snack Bar – I like the idea behind these bars but the taste is straight up awful. I didn’t like them one bit.

Revolution Tea Sampler – This is a sampler pack of three different types of tea. I haven’t tried them yet but how can you go wrong with tea.

IMG_0211Game Day Chapstick for men – I was surprised to see an item for men in my women’s box but I think chapstick in this cold climate is very useful. I gave it to my husband but I’m not sure he’s tried it yet.

Go Towel Pack of 3 – This is another great item that fits easily in your pocket that you can use on the go.

These items aren’t particularly high in value or super exciting but I loved receiving mail when I lived in the dorm and these are all useful items that a college student could use. What do you think of Pijon Box?

Love With Food August Review

The theme this month was Fun At The County Fair. There were 8 snacks in the box.

Montreal Steak Spice Potato Chips – I wasn’t crazy about these. They were a bit salty and not really the best.

Crispy Cheddar Crackers – I’m not a huge cheddar person so I gave these to my toddler. She ate them so I guess that means they were fine.

Nutty Rice Bites – These were just ok. Not many in the bag though.

Kettle Sweet Peanuts – I like peanuts and I thought these were good.

Skeeter Cinnamon Grahams – These tasted fine and were another food I gave to my toddler

Smooze Fruit Ice – I really liked this and I would eat more of these. Great choice for summer.

Yummy Earth Lollipops – Gave these to my toddler as well because she loves lollipops.

Taffy Candy – These were really good and fit well with the theme.

I really like the different types of food that Love With Food showcases and I like that every box has a theme. What did you think of Love With Food this month?

July Love With Food Review

Love With Food is a monthly snack delivery service. Their boxes usually have a theme and this month’s theme was Happy Camper.

The box included eight snacks:

Beanitos White Cheddar Puffs – I must admit that I didn’t try these. I was a bit skeptical but I know the perfect person to give them to.

Sea Salt Lentil Crackers – These were pretty good. I would eat them again.

Ginnymini’s Butter Crisps – These were just ok for me. I was thinking they’d be more like shortbread but they weren’t. They are gluten-free, organic, and non-gmo.

Madyson’s Marshmallows Chocolate Chip Square Puff – I didn’t notice when I was taking the picture that I had the label side down. I was expecting something really great since this is a gourmet marshmallow but it didn’t wow me. It was good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy more.

Jubilee Mix Wholesome Trail Mix – I didn’t try these either but I do know someone I can give them to that will appreciate them more.

2 Degrees Cherry Almond Food Bar – This also was just ok I thought.

Dutch Cocoa Somersaults – these I liked. I would eat more of these.

Kids Organic Chews – My toddler loves fruit chews and so she scarfed these right up.

I like that Love with Food finds healthy snacks that are not often sold in the grocery store but this month was a bit of a miss for me. Not my favorite box from them.

June Naturebox Review

Naturebox is snack subscription box. You get 5 3-4oz snacks a month. You have the choice of receiving surprise bags or choosing what you want. I really like choosing my own and they have a big selection to choose from. You can choose gluten-free, dairy-free etc. This month I chose 4 snacks.

Pistachio Power Clusters – These are my favorite. I get these every time. This time I ordered two bags. It doesn’t show two bags in the picture because I had already eaten one whole bag before I remembered I needed to take a picture.

Cashew Power Clusters – These were good. Cashews are my least favorite nut but I wanted to try them anyways. It’s easy to just grab these nut clusters for breakfast than actually cook.

Fancy Dried Figs – These were ok. I’ve never had dried figs before. They taste just like a fig newton only without the outer cookie part.

Praline Pumpkin Seeds – These were very good. Just the right mix of salty and sweet.

Poppy Seed Sticks – These were an extra add in from the company at no charge. They were just ok.

The cost is $19.95 a month including shipping. I think this is a fair price since you’d pay just as much at the store for similar snacks. They also give you the option of adding more snacks for only $3 a bag.  If you want to try out Naturebox click here and get $10 off your first box.

June Yumvelope Review

With a subscription to Yumvelope you get 6+ all natural snacks delivered for the cost of $21 a month. I really enjoyed my Yumvelope last month so I decided to let my subscription go another month. This month wasn’t really my favorite though. Here is what was in the box.

Savory Masala Popcorn with spices and lentil chips – I have not tried this as it doesn’t really sound like my cup of tea. I am saving it for a friend that I think would really enjoy it.

Gilded Nut Salt & Pepper Pistachios – I generally like pistachios but I did not like these. I found them too peppery.

Madecasse Salted Almond Chocolate – This was my favorite irem in the box. This was a very good chocolate. I would buy this again if I saw it.

Bearded Brothers Energy Bar – This tasted pretty good.

McCabe’s True Original Granola – Really, more granola. I have several open bags of granola already so I think I will pass this one on to a friend.

McCabe’s True Original Granola Bar – I like the idea of a healthy granola bar. I ate this for breakfast one morning. The flavor was good.

Savannah Bee Body Wash – This was an unusual item as usually yumvelope just has food products. It is a nice body wash with an orange scent.

I like that Yumvelope offers healthy snacks from brands that are not as well known. But I would prefer to have the option to pick the types of snacks I get. I prefer the sweet ones to the savory ones and this box leaned a bit towards savory more than I like.  But it was absolutely fun to try new products. It sort of like having your very own snack concierge. To try your Yumvelope the website is

April Naturebox Review

Naturebox is a monthly subscription service that sends 5 bags of snacks each month. You can pick the snacks that you want or you can choose to be surprised. Here’s what I chose this month:

As you can see I couldn’t wait to try these so most of the bags were opened already before I took the picture. Naturebox is in the process of changing their packaging which is why there are two different colors.

Black and White Granola – This was really good. My husband, toddler and I all liked this and it’s very nearly gone already.

Pistachio Power Clusters – I order these every month. I really like them. Next month I may order two because these disappeared the first day.

Honey Crunch Crisps – I decided to try these based on another’s reccommendation but I did not like them. They have a very strong asian taste. It’s kind of like chinese food in a cracker.

Whole Wheat Raspberry Fig Bars – My husband, toddler and I all voted these as so-so. They are just your run of the mill fig bars.

Sweet Blueberry Almonds – This was a substitute bag because what I had chosen was not available. I have not yet opened them to try them. But I like almonds so this should be ok.

There’s always one bag I don’t like and this month it’s the Honey Crunch Crisps. I really enjoy this subscription and I like trying the new snacks every month. They have over 100 snacks to choose from so I am going to keep this subscription for awhile. It is $19.95 a month and you can get $10 off your first month by using coupon code PMDX-BMH at

April Orange Glad Subscription Box Review

Orange Glad is a subscription service that sends out a box of sweets each month. Of course, I had to try them out. They don’t ship until the following month no matter when you place your order. I placed my order March 1st so I did not receive my box for six weeks. Kind of a long wait. This is what I received.

There were 5 items total.

Cafe Valley Petite Chocolate Chip Muffins – There were two of these in the box so my husband and I both tried one. I was expecting to be wowed but these were not spectacular. Maybe if they were fresh out of the oven I would be wowed.

Greystone Bakery Brown Sugar Blondie – Again I was expecting a wow but it really just wasn’t. They were just way too sweet for my liking. My husband rated it as ok.

Greystone Bakery Walnut Fudge Brownie – This one I liked. It had a great chocolatey flavor. This one I ate all myself and did not share.

The Truffle Cake Co Sinful Red Velvet & Peanut Butter Paradise – There were two truffle cakes. These are somewhat similar to a cake pop only without the white chocolate coating. These were just ok for me.

Wicked Whoopie – This was the best thing in the box. This was YUM! I would eat more of these. It is a fairly big size and extremely high calorie but oh so tasty.

All in all I decided not to keep this subscription. It was fun to try some new things but I think for the most part bakery products are best fresh from the oven.

March Escape Monthly

There was a coupon on Plum District for Escape Monthly so I had to sign up and try it. It seemed like an interesting idea to receive products from different destinations around the world. For March the destination was Ireland to tie in with St. Patrick’s Day. Here’s what was in the box.

First up is a Moon Book on tips for living in Ireland. This book is filled with interesting info about the culture, history, and modern day living in Ireland. I’m only a few pages in so far but I’m learning a lot and now I totally want to go and live in Ireland. For example, according to the book they have four weeks of paid vacation a year, six months paid maternity leave and nine paid holidays. How nice would that be?

The next item is Irish Soda Bread. I have never had soda bread before and this seemed pretty easy to make so I baked it up this afternoon. It is a very dense bread similar to cornbread or cake. I spread it with butter and orange marmalade and I thought it was delicious. So glad to have tried something new.

Next is Shortbread Cookies. These are buttery deliciousness. They are good alone and even better when dipped into tea. I may have to order more of these.

Speaking of tea that brings us to the next item which is Gift Of Gab tea. This is your basic tea. But it has a nice “soft” flavor that I really liked.

There also was Irish Cream Coffee. I made a pot of it this afternoon. It was good but a bit strong for me I think. After I brewed it my house had a very nice Irish Cream Coffee scent. My picture is a bit blurry but it’s just a little can, suitable for about an 8 cup pot.

Next up was a Mint Truffle Bar. This was very good also but I’m disappointed that it was dark chocolate instead of milk. My husband who prefers dark chocolate really liked it so I didn’t get to eat much of it.

Human + Kind Skin Care Cream. This is an interesting cream. It claims to help every skin condition from sunburn to bug bites to stretch marks to acne. It has all sorts of odd ingredients that you don’t normally see in skin cream such as coconut oil, avocado oil, tea tree oil, birch extract, marshmallow extract, broccoli extract and so on. I tried some on my hand and it seemed ok. It doesn’t smell medicinal but it does have a scent, I think it may be the tea tree oil. I like that it doesn’t have any chemicals in it and it will be interesting to see over time if it lives up to it’s claims.

Lastly, we have Irish Shamrock Seeds. How fun is that! Can’t wait to plant these.

This was a fun box. I really like learning about Ireland and trying these products. Next month is Mexico. It will be interesting to see what they do with that. I’m guessing tortilla and refried beans maybe. We’ll see. Stay tuned for next month.

Nature Box Review

One of the things I like about Nature Box is that they let you choose your snacks. This month I chose these five:

Pistachio Power Clusters – I got these last month as well. I really like them. Sadly they are already gone.

Peanut Butter Nom Noms – These are very good. I expected them to be chewier but they are a hard cookie type treat. My toddler didn’t like hers though. My only real complaint is that there weren’t very many in the bag.

Cherry Ganache Granola – This tasted as yummy as the name implies. More please.

Baked Sweet Potato Fries – I had expected these to be like potato chips only with sweet potatoes but they’re not, they are crackers. They have a good flavor but a bit spicy. My toddler wasn’t a fan of these either but I liked them.

Sour Cream & Onion Almonds – They were out of the snack I had requested so they substituted these. I have not tried them yet because I’m still eating almonds from my Yumvelope Box.

Nature Box has tons of snacks to choose from and it’s fun to try new flavors. I am going to keep this subscription for awhile longer. To try them out for yourself use coupon code REFER25 for $5 off your first box.
