December Koala Crate Box Review & Coupon

Koala Crate is a monthly subscription box for kids ages 3-4. Each month they send you a box full of play-and-learn activities plus the  imagine! magazine, which was created in partnership with Highlights for Children. Each month has a different theme and this month was Safari. Here is what was in the box:

The first activity involved making safari puppets. There were five different heads and five different bellies that my daughter could match to the puppet. She actually did really well matching them and each belly had a different texture which offered a sensory experience as well. After we matched up the puppets I hid them around the house for her to find. She had a lot of fun with this. She was so delighted when she found one. She’s not quite three and so I made them really easy to find. Here is a picture of the puppets.

The Safari search came with a little checklist so each time she found a puppet we could check it off the checklist. I think she really enjoyed this game and especially that I played it with her.

The other game was a set of ten cards of each of the five safari animals with their heads and feet. The kids have the option of matching them up or playing memory with them. I left her on her own to do this and I thought I had a picture but I can’t find it. There is also a story in the Imagine magazine and other activities and games.

My three year old and I really enjoyed this box. I thought the theme was great and the activities were perfect for her age. I fully recommend this box. The cost of Koala Crate is $19.95 a month but if you follow this link you can get $10 off your first box. Koala Crate

Tea Sparrow Subscription Review – June

IMG_6172

Tea Sparrow is a monthly subscription box which ships from Canada. The cost is $20 and each month you’ll receive 4 bags of premium loose leaf tea. Each bag will get you about 7-9 cups or so. Their theme for summer is iced tea. So the teas they send you can be made hot or iced. I’ve been doing both. I have an iced tea maker so the loose leaf works well for me. And when I want to have just a hot cup of tea I use a tea filter bag. The flavors are all very good I thought. And they send a nice mix of caffeinated and herbal teas.

Thai Chai Rooibos Herbal Decaf Tea – This one was my favorite. Very good flavors. Organic rooibos tea with vanilla and cinnamon flavors.

Mandarin Rose Caffeinated Black Tea – I drank this one as an iced tea. Nice mild flavors.

Buddah Bamboo Herbal Tea – I’ve had this one both hot and iced. It has bamboo leaves as well as pineapple and strawberry bits. A nice mild tea.

Flap Jack Oolong Caffeinated Green Tea – This is the only one I haven’t tried yet although it sounds fabulous. It has walnut pieces and maple syrup flavors.

If you drink a lot of tea this is a very good subscription. But for me I don’t really drink 35 cups of tea a month. I liked that the bags are resealable so at least they will keep for awhile. To try Tea Sparrow for only $8 enter coupon code TEAS at checkout. http://teasparrow.com

June Citrus Lane Subscription Box Review & Discount

IMG_6151

By the name you’d think Citrus Lane had something to do with oranges but actually it’s a subscription box for kids ages 0-5. My box is for a 2 year old girl. I loved the box this month. Here is what was in it.

Plum Organics Nutrition Bars in Blueberry & Strawberry

IMG_6153

I like that they included healthy snacks but I would rate these as just so so. My daughter ate them but wasn’t enthused about them. Of course lately it seems she only has two food groups; Macaroni & Cheese & Hot Dogs.

Mudpuppy 12 piece Ballerina Puzzle

IMG_6154

I thought this was a really cute puzzle so we opened it up right away. My daughter hasn’t really gotten the hang of puzzles yet and she got really fussy and tempermental and threw the pieces everywhere. But I liked it so maybe she will enjoy it more as she gets older. For now I will put it away for another day.

Minnie Mouse Wet Bag

IMG_6155

This is exactly what we needed this month. This is perfect for taking to the pool and putting her wet swimsuit in. And Minnie Mouse is always a favorite so I am really happy with the pattern.

Skip Hop Panda Straw Bottle

IMG_6157

This is again another awesome selection and perfect for taking to the pool. While my daughter can drink out of a regular cup she almost always spills most of the contents. So I much prefer sippy cups with lids. Yesterday when I took her to the pool I let her have some lemonade from a styrofoam cup and after she took a few drinks she decided to put several of the napkins into it. Then she took the napkins out and for some reason dumped the entire rest of the lemonade on my foot. So yeah, lids are a must.

I liked all the items in the Citrus Lane this month. This was one of my favorite boxes from them. To get 50% off your first box click here Citrus Lane

June Pop Sugar Must Have Review & Coupon Code

PopSugar Must Have is a monthly subscription box which sends “hand-selected items in beauty, fashion, home, fitness, and food.” The cost is $39.95 a month with shipping included. Here is what was in the box.

IMG_6111

There were six items and a gift card. The first item you really notice is the hardcover book ‘The One & Only’ by Emily Giffin. Retail value $16.50

IMG_6112

I have not read this book yet but I’ve heard good things about it. Hopefully I will be able to start reading it this week.

One Potato Two Potato Hawaiian BBQ Kettle Potato Chips Retail value $2.00

IMG_6113

These had a good tangy flavor and they were made with all natural ingredients. It’s nice to see a BBQ chip without MSG.

You Smell Lemon Verbena Wet Wipes Retail value $6

IMG_6114

With a toddler wet wipes are a must. I haven’t tried these particular ones yet but I’m happy they were included in the box.

Sachajuan Shiny Citrus Body Lotion Retail value $24

IMG_6115

This is a nice lotion with a soft citrusy scent and while I like it I would never pay full retail for it.

Lollies Hair Ties Retail value $8

IMG_6116

In the summertime I pretty much always wear my hair in a ponytail and I always need more hair ties. I don’t know where they go but I am forever losing them.

Turkish-T turkish towel Retail value $32

IMG_6120

I loved the turkish towel from the PopSugar Special Edition Resort box so when I saw that there was a turkish towel in the June box I knew I had to get it. I LOVE the turkish towels. I have already been to the pool several times with this. They are compact and lightweight making them super easy to fit in a gym bag. The blue and white stripes are perfect for summertime and while I would certainly never pay full retail for this I love that it was included in the box. It’s not quite as luxurious as the one from the resort box but still very nice.

Also included in the box was a $15 Native Union coupon. I had never heard of Native Union so I had to look up their website. They sell tech accessories such as chargers, headphones, cases etc. I doubt I will use this coupon so maybe I will pass it on to someone else.

I really loved the June PopSugar Must Have Box. To get your PopSugar box click here and enter coupon code REFER5 for $5 off your first month or coupon code JUNESELECT10 for $10 off a three month subscription.

April Naturebox Review

Naturebox is a monthly subscription service that sends 5 bags of snacks each month. You can pick the snacks that you want or you can choose to be surprised. Here’s what I chose this month:

IMG_5875

As you can see I couldn’t wait to try these so most of the bags were opened already before I took the picture. Naturebox is in the process of changing their packaging which is why there are two different colors.

Black and White Granola – This was really good. My husband, toddler and I all liked this and it’s very nearly gone already.

Pistachio Power Clusters – I order these every month. I really like them. Next month I may order two because these disappeared the first day.

Honey Crunch Crisps – I decided to try these based on another’s reccommendation but I did not like them. They have a very strong asian taste. It’s kind of like chinese food in a cracker.

Whole Wheat Raspberry Fig Bars – My husband, toddler and I all voted these as so-so. They are just your run of the mill fig bars.

Sweet Blueberry Almonds – This was a substitute bag because what I had chosen was not available. I have not yet opened them to try them. But I like almonds so this should be ok.

There’s always one bag I don’t like and this month it’s the Honey Crunch Crisps. I really enjoy this subscription and I like trying the new snacks every month. They have over 100 snacks to choose from so I am going to keep this subscription for awhile. It is $19.95 a month and you can get $10 off your first month by using coupon code PMDX-BMH at https://naturebox.com/
